First the Video Assistant Referee at the Club World Cup, then a 48-team World Cup, and now FIFA is considering getting rid of the offside rule?! On Tuesday, former  striker and Dutch legend, Marco Van Basten, proposed to abolish the offside rule once and for all. The rule that they teach you right after learning how to kick a ball and learning to not touch the ball with your hands. In other words, they want to get rid of the essence of the game. Getting rid of the offside rule is like getting rid of outs in Baseball or penalized low-blows in Boxing. Sounds absurd, doesn't it?
