Game of Thrones Season 7 episode 3 “The Queen’s Justice” Recap

The episode starts with Jon Snow and Ser Davos arriving at Dragonstone. It goes straight into a Jon Snow and Tyrion scene. This is the 1st time Jon Snow and Tyrion have been together since season 1. The interaction between the two was great. “Tyrion: The Bastard of Winterfell. Jon Snow: The dwarf of Casterly Rock. “Tyrion then introduces himself to Ser Davos, remember Tyrion and Davos were on opposite sides during the battle of Blackwater bay. So it seems to almost come full circle. Missandei then asks all the North men to relinquish their weapons. Then they all proceed to meet Daenerys. As they walk up to meet Daenerys. Jon and Tyrion have a quite awkward conversation about Sansa. They continue to walk this line is such a good example of foreshadowing.  “Tyrion: General rule of thumb Stark men don’t do well when they travel South Jon: True but I’m not a Stark.” Right after that line Jon see Drogon for the 1st time. This is foreshadowing in such a big way Jon is half Stark and half Targaryen this just symbolizes how he is a Targaryen.

Then we cut to Melisandre and Varys talking. Melisandre line is key to the overall story of the entire show “I’ve done my part I have brought Ice and Fire together.” She then tell Varys she will be traveling to Volantis. Melisandre line before leaving “Oh I will return my dear spider, one last time I have to die in this strange country just like you.” Could that be what the Red Priestess whisper in Varys ear when he was young? That question has yet to be answered, but did we get a hint maybe?

We then cut to the scene that has been 7 season in the making, the meeting of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. Missandei then gives the usual breaker of chains introduction for Daenerys. Then Ser Davos introduces Jon Snow. “This is Jon Snow he’s King in the North.” Jon and Daenerys begin to talk back and forth. About the history between House Stark and House Targaryen. Daenerys apologizes for the crimes her Father the Mad King committed against House Stark Jon seems to be shocked by this.  Jon Snow then explains about the army of the dead the Night King, and how they need to work together. Daenerys then gives her life story pretty much.  Ser Davos then explains what Jon Snow has done. This is almost like game of one ups. Enter Varys as he whispers something into Daenerys ear. The meeting ends there. After Jon Snow and Ser Davos leave the room Varys tell Daenerys about how the Dorne, Tyrell and Greyjoys were attacked by Euron Greyjoy, and are either captured or dead.

Cut to Theon being rescued by a shipped that survived. Speaking of Euron he is welcomed back to Kingslanding like a hero. As he marches to the castle he brings, both the Sand Snakes who were captured along with Yara Greyjoy. They enter the throne room and Euron gives Cersei the gift he promised the 2 sands. Then Cersei and Euron officially join forces. While the people cheer Euron is talking some smack to Jamie. Doesn’t Euron know not to smack talk a Kingslayer. What is interesting is Yara was not givin as a gift to Cersei so Euron still has Yara as his prisoner.  We then cut to Cersei the Sands in the dungeons. Cersei is evil but this is poetic as she kisses the daughter of Ellaria Sand. Remember Ellaria Sand kissed Myrcella Lannister and had poison on her lips and that is how Myrcella died. So for Cersei to do the same thing and to make Ellaria watch as her daughter dies the same way in the dungeon is poetic. Then Jamie and Cersei get “close.”

We cut to Jon Snow on a cliff at Dragonstone thinking. Then Tyrion shows up and they talk. Jon is trying to figure out how to convince Daenerys to help him out, and that the White Walkers and army of the dead are real. Tyrion asks Jon Snow if there is anything he can do to help. Tyrion brings it up to Daenerys that Jon Snow wants Dragonglass. Tyrion tries to reason with Daenerys to give Jon Snow the Dragonglass let him mine the Dragongalsss. Remember Daenerys just lost the Dorne and Greyjoy Fleet so she is in some need of some new allies. Daenerys is very interested in the quote Ser Davos said in the throne room earlier in the episode. “What was that Ser Davos said? About taking a knife in the heart for his people.” It is interesting how they did not bring up Jon Snow coming back to life and how they don’t seem to want to talk about it it either. Daenerys and Jon Snow then talk alone it’s interesting that Daenerys  brings up the name of her Dragons. One just happens to be named after Jon Snows true Father Daenerys Brother Rhaegar. Another example of how this episode they have been foreshadowing that Jon Snow is part Targaryen. Daenerys tell Jon Snow that she will allow him to mine the Dragonglass and forge it into weapons.

In the North we see Sansa taking charge in the North. Rationing food, making sure weapons are built correctly. Then we see Little finger trying to manipulate Sansa. The meeting is interrupted as Sansa get a surprise guest. Bran Stark arrives in Winterfell. Interesting to note we have not seen Bran and Sansa together since the first episode of Game of Thrones. Sansa thought Bran was dead so this is a very emotional reunion. Bran and Sansa then talk alone. First thing Bran says is I need to speak with Jon. I am paraphrasing of course. Sansa tries to tell Bran he should be the lord of Winterfell, then Bran tries to explain to Sansa about how he can’t because he is the 3 eyed raven now.  It’s like me trying to explain Game of Thrones to my parents they just don’t get it. What throws Sansa off is Bran tell her about how he is sorry for everything that happened to her, and tell her exactly what happened on her wedding day. She walks away very creeped out.

Then we cut to Jorah and Sam. Jorah is cured thanks to Sam. Jorah thanks Sam for curing him and says I hope we meet again. Sam surprisingly is not punished for curing Jorah. Maester Marwyn has a job for Sam to make copies of manuscripts and scrolls. Finally an episode this season where Sam in not doing something repulsive.

We cut back to Daenerys and her small council talking about how to destroy Euron fleet. You can tell Daenerys wants to do something and not just sit back. Maybe a possible foreshadow for future episodes…  Then one of the coolest scenes in my option for this episode. Tyrion breaks down how Casterly Rock will be taken the voice over while you see it happening was really well done. However the unsullied take the rock way to easy. Right as the fight end Euron Greyjoy Fleet show up and start to destroy most of the unsullied ships. Jamie Lannister taking a page out of Robb Stark’s book and sends most of the Lannister army to highgarden. Something Robb Stark did when he was at war vs the Lannister’s. It makes sense to go after highgarden and the Tyrell’s as they are the richest House and have the most gold and Cersei needs gold to pay the Iron bank. The Tyrell army is defeated with ease. Jamie and Lady Olenna then sit and talk. Lady Olenna knows she is going to die. She ask how it is going to happen. Jamie talked Cersei out of anything to extreme and pour poison into her wine glass she drinks the entire glass. Then confesses she had Joffery poisoned. She wanted to tell Jamie so he can let Cersei know.  That is how it ends.

My reaction the Jon and Daenerys went how I thought it would go. It was still awesome to see. A lot of foreshadowing in the episode. Sam finally didn’t have any gross scenes. Cersei and Euron stuff was good. Lady Olenna stole the show with the last scene overall very good. Could have been more action but I get it. They are setting up that big battle to come this season.

Prediction for next episode

-          Jon and Daenerys will officially become Allies

-          Jamie and Bronn will get captured

-          A fight between the Lannister’s and Dany and Jon will happen

-          Arya will return to Winterfell

-          Gendry will return

Until next week thanks for reading and as always is it Sunday yet???

Game of Thrones Season 7 episode 2 “Stromborn Recap”

Game of Thrones left off right where episode 1 ended. We go straight to Daenerys at Dragonstone with her advisors during a storm. Quick nod to the episode name. Daenerys and Varys talk about loyalty. Remember in season one Varys was the one who tried to have Daenerys poisoned by King Roberts’s orders. Fast forward to now Varys swears to Daenerys he will remain loyal to her and if he has issues to talk to her face to face rather than plot behind her back. Also Daenerys tells Varys if he betrays her she will have him burned alive.

Enter Melisandre she talk with Daenerys about the prince who was promised prophecy. It was interesting as the translation in high valerian gender does not matter when it comes to the prophecy, which means it could the prince or princess who was promised. She tells Daenerys she has a part to play in the coming wars as does another Jon Snow long story short Tyrion send a raven to Jon Snow inviting him to Dragonstone to meet with Daenerys. Jon, Sansa and Ser Davos discuss the letter from Tyrion. I mean dragons can defeat white walkers so it would make sense.

While back in Kingslanding Cersei Lannister Queen of the seven kingdoms. Tries to rally the other Westeros Houses against Daenerys. After the meeting Randyll Tarly and Jamie Lannister speak in private Jamie asks the Tarlys to betray House Tyrell if he does he will name him warden of the south. Sam and Maester Marwyn have a quick scene with Jeor Mormont. Maester Marwyn basically tell Jeor we will let you stay one more day and that the infected grayscale has spread too far we can’t cure you. Qyburn and Cersei make a weapon that can hurt dragons.

Back in Dragonstone Daenerys and her council make plans on how to take Westeros. The plan is Greyjoys and Dorne will sail for Kingslanding the Dorne and Tyrell arm will take Kingslanding. While that is going on the unsullied will take Casterly Rock. It’s important to note Tyrion Lannister was in charge of the sewers in Casterly Rock so he has more knowledge about Casterly Rock then anyone. At the end of the meeting Daenerys has a talk with Lady Olenna. Lady Olenna had a very cool line “The lords of Westeros are sheep. Are you a sheep? No you’re a dragon, be a Dragon.” Then Greyworm and Missandei get really close.

Back to Sam and Maester Marwyn. Marwyn is writing a book call A  Chronicles of wars following the death of King Robert the third. That sure rolls of the tongue then, Sam suggest something a bit more poetic. Sam talks about something he read that can cure greyscale. Marwyn say the procedure is far too dangerous and is forbidden. Sam then walks in on Jeor writing a letter to Daenerys. Says tell Jeor about himself and tells him you’re not dying. As Sam for a second straight episode wins award for grossest scene in the episode. No seriously why does Sam get all the gross scene so far this season?

And then the transition from Greyscale to a pie was gross but seamless well done Game of Thrones well done. We find Arya in a pub and she runs into no other than hotpie have not seen him in a while. She begins to eat a pie and drink some ale her and hot pie begin to talk. Hotpie ask if she is going back to Winterfell. Remember Arya has not been In Winterfell since season 1 Arya also believes her family is dead. Arya says no why would I the Bolton’s control it. Hotpie tell her about how Jon Snow retook the north and how he is king in the north. Arya jump on her horse and make a decision go to kingslanding to kill Cersei or head back home. I can’t help but remember a line from last season “A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell and I’m going home” Arya in the crossroad makes the decision yes to head home to Winterfell.

Speaking of Winterfell Jon receives another letter for Sam tell him about the Dragonglass under Dragonstone. He has a meeting and tell everyone he is going to meet with Daenerys everyone is against him going. Remember Starks have not done so well once they leave the North examples. Rickard Stark burned alive by the Mad King, Robb Stark killed at the Red Wedding, Ned Stark got executed by King Joffery and Rickon Stark killed by Ramsey Bolton for not know what a zig zag is. So you can see why everyone does not want him to go. Sansa freaks out but Jon tells everyone he is leaving the North in Sansa hands. Before Jon leaves he visits the Crypt where there is a status of Ned and Lyanna Stark. Littlefinger tells Jon how he loved his mother and Sansa. Jon grabs him very similar to how Ned did in season one. Tell him if you touch my sister I will kill you myself. Jon and Davos leave for Dragonstone.

Back to Arya she is heading back to Winterfell she is talking a break with her horse. Then she hears something she grabs her sword. Next thing you know she is sounded by a pack of wolves. A direwolf appears right behind her it is her direwolf Nymeria. We have not seen Nymeria since season one when Arya saved her life having her run away after attacking Prince Joffery. Arya tells her how see is going North back home and asks Nymeria to join her. Nymeria walks away with her pack. Arya follows up with the line “It’s not you.” Which is a line Arya said to Ned when Ned was talking about the life she was to have back in season one.

Then we cut to the Greyjoy fleet on its way to Kingslanding. We see some intimate moments between Yara and Ellaria Sand right after they are attacked by Euron Greyjoy. Euron came to the ship with a claw like drawbridge. Euron facial expressions were priceless. He goes on killed people left and right the first big battle we have seen this season. Euron kills two of the Sand Snakes. Euron captures Yara tell Theon “I have her come and get her.” Theon then looks around drops his sword and jumps off the ship. Euron laughs we see Theon is the water and that is how the episode ends.

Reaction I thought it was a very good episode. I really liked the Daenerys stuff. The Jon Snow stuff was also very good and well done. I just wish they would have done something more in the Crypt scene, his real Mother statue was right there could have revealed who his parents were right there. The Sam stuff is gross but will have a big payoff Arya just continues to have fantastic scenes. The Euron and ship fights were fantastic and well done.

Here is the promo for episode 3 is it Sunday yet???

The Defiant Ones

Who would've ever thought that the guy who's Straight Outta Compton & said 'F*ck Tha Police' would share sounds(literally) with a Jewish guy who's Straight Outta Brooklyn, & received his big break in the early 70's with John Lennon, would create history-together?? All via the late Steve Jobs who was given up for adoption at birth & an alleged drug user, but yet was the mastermind behind the whole Apple music concept?? Geez. They did it though, Andre Young, better known as Dr. Dre & Jimmy Iovine sold Beats electronics to Apple music in 2014 for $3 billion dollars.

Their four part docu-series can explain it much better than I ever could.

I call them brilliant to say the least, but they are known as 'The Defiant Ones'.

Catch these episodes while you can on HBO. I've already binged watch them. In case you're lacking you can always catch up with the latest & greatest info with OUI Radio....stay tuned.

Be Careful Little Children What You Say.....on Social Media

Want to share an update? How do you feel?

What’s happening? Are you at XYZ Restaurant/Bar/Club?

These are questions that we see every time we open up

our Social Media Apps. We’re encouraged to share

our innermost thoughts and feelings with all of our

friends. Unfortunately, over sharing is a very real thing

on Social Media sites. Maybe you’re just frustrating a

friend with a rant or 1 more picture of Fluffy the

cat licking her paws in the most absurd place in your home.

Maybe you’re talking about the people that frustrate you most.

I often look at posts and preface what someone is saying

with, “Dear Public Diary,”. While it may be fun or freeing to

say what we feel and have other people validate it or even

argue it, sometimes over sharing can cost you a relationship or

even a job. A job????? Don’t believe it? Well check out the link

Sam Elliot, at it again!

On a trip in Los Angeles and ran into the fabulous actor, dad and gentleman, “Sam Elliot”.  He first came out of the Tea shop, we made eye contact and nodded.  Then quietly inside I freaked out like, “Oh SH*T, was that SAM ELLIOT? DAMN, I love “RoadHouse”, “Tombstone”…and wow, dad loves him too!”  So I got up and walked around over to him and literally as i was approaching him about 7 feet away, the great Sam Elliot stands up and reaches out his hand and says “Hello BROTHER”, in that natural Elliot voice.  We shook hands, talked for 10 mins, he gave me his agents contact info and I left.  Go out and see “THE HERO” everyone, I believe this will be his biggest role ever!  Come on Academy Awards!!!

What a down to earth human being, proud of you Mr. Elliot and congrats on “THE RANCH” AND “THE HERO”.

BTW… keep your mind on clean thoughts, that’s his lovely daughter(she is super cool!)

Donnie Wahlberg raises over 750k for Generation Rescue at Special Event

by: Peter Ferreri

The "RIGHT STUFF" is a term often associated with the New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) as their 1988 hit is arguably their biggest. The simple verses, catchy pop vocals and dancing has stayed in pop culture lore some 30 years later. As each of the members embarked on many endeavors over that time span, one new kid truly shows he has the right stuff as he held a benefit concert to raise $759k to Help Kids with Autism For Generation Rescue along with his wife Jenny McCarthy. It is reported that funds raised at this year's event will be allocated to build integrative health clinics in Missouri and Illinois.

I had the pleasure of attending the red carpet along with the concert itself at the historic Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, IL. The New Kids were just in the Chicagoland Area on their Total Package tour along with Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul. From the expectations of last year years One Night with Donnie Wahlberg, this year's Another Evening with Donnie Wahlberg & Special Guests exceeded last year's show both in monetary gain for Generation Rescue, but also that of excitement and enjoyment of the crowd. One crowd member spoke to me while waiting for the red carpet to begin and stated she drove from the northern part of Atlanta to see this show. I had other people sitting around me at the venue stating this is a "small sample" of what the excitement is on the NKOTB cruises.

On the red carpet, members of Naughty by Nature shared how excited they were to be part of this show, as they had a cousin who has Autism (see video from our EDGE Facebook LIVE below to see interview or click here). After seeing the walk the red carpet, I knew they were to take the stage as surprise guests later.

Jenny McCarthy met the media and thanked all for being there and explained about the cause and what it meant to her. Jenny opened the show with an emotional speech, what was in store and what it meant to have her husband Donnie embrace her and her family since their marriage. She then introduced her husband to an electric applause as the show was to begin.

Donnie started with some kind words and a newer song Thankful from the NKOTB new EP. The crowd's excitement hit a peak as he followed the song with Remix with fellow New Kid Joey McIntyre. After the excitement of one New Kid, at other points of the night both Jordan Knight and Danny Wood joined in the fun to sing either solo songs, or classics such as Jackson 5's I'll Be There (a staple of New Kids concerts in the late 80's). Donnie jumped to the middle of the crowd to share how much this event meant not only to him, but his wife, in a tearful speech while she smiled from the balcony. One could hear many fans saying aloud "Oh, he's crying," as to which he wasn't afraid to share his emotions. He also displayed a check to the crowd in reference to his personal donation.

A youth choir (Chicago Children's Choir) joined to be background for a handful of songs intermittently throughout the evening. The momentum built as Naughty by Nature hit the stage to perform hits such as O.P.P. and Hip Hop Hooray. They shared a moment with Donnie on their encounters with Autism and had the whole crowd on their feet.

A highlight of the evening was Donnie stated he wanted to perform his favorite NKOTB song which he recorded all of 30 years ago, I Need You off their Hangin' Tough Album. He admitted his voice was tired because of the lengthy tour, but it wasn't much needed when he had the crowd sing along to Cover Girl.

In another exciting twist, two members of Boyz II Men appeared on stage and sang along with NKOTB to One Sweet Day as the fans sang the Mariah Carey parts of the song. The energy reached a crescendo when all performers hit stage singing Motown Philly.

Photo by Brian Babineau - courtesy of Generation Rescue

Other select New Kids songs performed were Dirty Dancing and One Song off THE BLOCK album. You knew the ending was going to be a high point as once again all performers singing a medley of The Right Stuff / Hangin' Tough. The crowd went to a frenzy as confetti canons exploded and all waved along to the New Kids classics.

Fans in the crowd knew the show was over but still chanted for one more song, and even though it never came, everyone left feeling like they just left a 1991 summer concert at the Rosemont Horizon.  Having experienced large arena shows for NKOTB, it was cool to experience this smaller setting for a change.  After seeing both Joey McIntyre and Jordan Knight perform solo at the House of Blues in Chicago and this was close to that in terms of size.   Almost like being in the crowd of the 1989 VHS of Hangin' Tough Live!  Now that would be a dream.  I’ve actually had the crazy opportunity to perform twice with Jordan in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska about 10 years ago, but that is a blog post for another day.

Photo by Brian Babineau - courtesy of Generation Rescue

Although the size has been pared down, the message is bigger and obviously more meaningful to Donnie and his family. 20 years ago it was to entertain millions of fans, now he uses his celebrity to help those in need. I encourage people to stop by the Generation Rescue website to get more information and make a donation to a great cause. #DWxGR2017
