Candi Gomez - Station Advisor

Hi! I’m Candi Gomez. A seasoned broadcaster with over 2 decades of major-market experience.

My radio career started off when I was just 17 years old, at a small station inside the Girls & Boys Club, on the Southside of Chicago, called, “WCYC.” This is where it all began for me.

While pursuing my Broadcast Journalism degree at Columbia College, I landed an internship with, “WGN News Channel 9,” and stayed on for two fulfilling years.

My first official radio gig was a dream come true. I was hired on full time with CBS Radio to join the “Night Show” at B96. I spent over 12 years there covering various shifts including: Nights, Middays, Afternoons & Overnights and handled all the excitement that came with them.

In the Spring of 2008, I was the female host & voice for the Women's NBA Chicago Sky team. What a thrill! I loved interacting with the crowd and promoting our talented young ladies.

iHeartMedia Inc. sought me out when my contract was up across the street, literally; and I turned down a “Morning Show” position out of state to stay local in my wonderful city. Currently you can listen to me on-air in the studio, doing what I love, weekends and also during fill-in shifts on 103.5 Kiss Fm.

Throughout the years, I’ve lent my voice to hundreds of radio commercials and endorsements. I’ve also been cast for various television projects and shows. From broadcasting in the studio to interviewing celebrities on the Red Carpet at the Grammy’s; my job never feels like work to me! No assignment is too big or too small.

I’m now excited to expand my career by joining the team of professionals at Illinois Media School. I look forward to working with students who are passionate about pursuing their dreams.
